Private lessons - one on one

My bass lessons are for dedicated students of all levels, with the focus on modern contemporary bassplaying.

Learn the fundamentals (chords, scales, rhythm, groove, practical theory and improvisation),  the techniques (fingerstyle, pickstyle, slap, doublethumb etc), and maybe the styles of the masters (Louis Johnson, Larry Graham, Willie Weeks, Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller ..). Bridge the gaps in your understanding of the bass, or start from scratch with an excellent foundation.

How It Works (performance based learning)

The free consultation will begin with you recording a video or audio using the Ashbury Music Hall recording tools.  It is very simple. Talk about what you want to learn (specific or in general), your strengths / weaknesses, your favorite players / bands / types of music, and record a short demonstration of where you are with your playing at the moment, it can be licks, scales or maybe part of a song you know well.  I will post my response, and if you want to continue after that,  you sign up for the paid course HERE and I will get you started on your first assignment, and we will be on our way! 

Another option is if you have a favorite lick or playalong that i have done previously either on playbassnow.com , youtube.com/marlowedk ,or youplayalong.com we can work with that too, its entirely up to you:-) Look at the video example below

Your virtual lesson web page is created just for you and is private so you don't have to be shy about other people hearing your practice and progress. I will be the only person who has access to your lessons and videos (and the Ashbury Music Hall webmasters).

The actual lesson is $60.  I will review up to 3 of your video posts per week (5 min. max on each video) and give you feedback on how you are doing.  I will answer your posted questions with appropriate media (text documents, video, audio, related links).  Each week I will give you an updated assignment and when necessary, I will create special teaching videos just for you, related to your assignments and progress.  The lesson is customized for you and your learning pace.  You have access to all the content we create 24/7 allowing you to learn when YOU want!  When you are ready to move on purchase the next lesson.  Lessons are active for 2 weeks.
